Regular Agency Membership shall be open to any law enforcement agencies, public safety training academies, and public safety communications centers in the State of Ohio or contiguous states interested in the process of attaining or maintaining CALEA accreditation. Regular Agency Membership shall be granted upon receipt and approval of a completed membership application and full payment of dues. Regular Agency Members have full voting rights and may hold a position on the Executive Board.

Associate Membership shall be open to individuals affiliated with law enforcement agencies, public safety training academies, public safety communications centers, correctional institutions/facilities, crime laboratories, public safety agencies, other government agencies, and private organizations with an interest in the accreditation or certification process. Associate Memberships will not be granted to organizations that are in self-assessment or to those organizations that are currently accredited through CALEA. Associate membership shall be granted upon a majority vote of SOAR members at a regularly scheduled SOAR meeting. Associate members have no voting rights and may not hold a position on the Executive Board.
